These values and commitments have been recognised by Investors In People, with CH&Co being accredited with an “Investor in People” status since 1997.

In 2011 CH&Co was awarded the “Gold Champion status Investors in People”, the highest accolade available within the Investors in People programme.

Held by CH&Co alone in contract catering the achievement of “Gold Champion Recognition” is awarded to just 1.2% of recognised organisations across all industries.

The IIP assessor was particularly impressed with CH&Co’s TUPE process and the recruitment and induction of new employees and how each person is developed and mentored from the outset.

He said: "Every person in the business has a clear understanding of the company’s values and can talk about them with confidence and a real understanding of the part they play. What is all the more impressive is that CH&Co has achieved Gold Standard so soon after a major restructuring".

In an industry with a typically high turnover in lower grade staff positions we ensure every member of staff has a development plan and periodic appraisals. As a result we have an excellent track record for maintaining mutually beneficial turnover levels.

Our many training schemes include our ‘Back to Front’ initiative giving chefs the opportunity to join a programme of continuous development, geared towards entering management.
